Project Background
The Sycamore City Council has opted to pursue the construction of a new Fire Station 1 in a new location. City Manager Michael Hall, in tandem with Sycamore Fire Department administration and personnel, are evaluating how to optimize the Department's ability to serve our community.

- 5/6/25 Update: On May 5th, the City of Sycamore held a ceremony to officially break ground on Fire Station 1.
- 12/11/24 Update: On December 2nd, City Council approved the 2025 City Budget, which allocates $10.5 million for the new Fire Station 1. The new station will be funded through $8 million in bonds, $2.5 million from the City's general fund, and $220,000 in interest income. The City has hired construction management services from Ringland-Johnson Construction and is looking forward to breaking ground in Spring 2025.
- 6/24/24 Update: A Workshop Meeting of the Sycamore City Council will be held at Streamwood Fire Department on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 9:00AM. This meeting will serve as a workshop for members of the Council and general public to tour an existing station that is very similar to building plans for the new Sycamore Station #1. - 1/17/24 Update: The City of Sycamore secures 6.28 acres of land for the new station through a generous donation by IDEAL Industries, Inc. Click here to view the official Press Release (PDF).
- 11/6/23 Update: In conjunction with the Sycamore Chamber of Commerce, the Sycamore Fire Department is hosting a Coffee & Conversation Open House at Fire Station 1 this Wednesday, November 8th at 8:00 AM. All are welcome to attend -- no registration required.
