Temporary off-premises signs and attention-getting devices that are otherwise prohibited may be permitted under UDO 6.8.6 (S) for the purpose of promoting community events, special events, religious events, educational events, charitable events, philanthropic events, etc. must be registered for approval with the Community Development Department a minimum of seven (7) days prior to the date of the event.
Sign shall not be displayed more than fourteen (14) days prior to the event and shall be removed not more than seven (7) days after the conclusion of the event. Limited to fourteen (14) consecutive days and no more than six (6) times during a calendar year.

a. Temporary community and special event signs shall only be permitted in commercial zoning districts with frontage on North Main Street / Rt. 23, DeKalb Avenue, State Street, Peace / Plank Road and Bethany Road. Only one sign per event shall be permitted at the locations noted herein.
b. Approval is required from each property owner(s)/landlord(s) listed below granting permission to display signs.
I hereby acknowledge a-f below and certify that the information contained in this registration for Community and Special Event Sign is true, correct, and that I have read, understand and will conform to all City of Sycamore's Codes and Ordinances, specifically Article 6.8.6 (S) of the Unified Development Ordinance. I also agree that all work performed shall be in accordance with the approved plans, specifications, and dimensions shown on the sign rendering, except for such changes as may be necessary, authorized or required by the City of Sycamore. No work shall be conducted until approval of the registration is obtained.
