Sycamore Street Construction Update 8/28/20
Curran (IDOT) is milling pavement on IL Routes 23 (Main Street) and 64 (State Street). Pavement milling within downtown Sycamore (Kishwaukee River at Route 23 through downtown) work will occur after 7pm on Monday August 31st. The first layer of pavement is tentatively scheduled for overnight on Wednesday September 2nd. Please be prepared for delays when traveling on these roads. Please contact IDOT at 815-434-6131 with any questions or concerns related to this work. The crosswalks will be stamped and repainted after paving.
Schroeder Asphalt (City’s MFT contractor) has paved Roosevelt Court, Fairway Lane, Cloverlane Drive and Cambridge Place. Concrete and base repair is underway on Orchard Lane, but mechanical issues have created a delay. The contractor will be back onsite Monday. Once this phase is complete, the contractor will mobilize the mill and remove the pavement on Parker Street, Croatian Court and Orchard Lane. Repaving and restoration will follow.
ComEd will be completing tree trimming on IL Route 64.
Cracksealing of various City Streets will begin in September.
City crews are continuing with watermain repairs, concrete repairs, manhole adjustments, and roadway patching.
Please proceed with caution when traveling through construction zones and follow all traffic control devices. Thank you for your patience during this construction season. Please contact Mark Bushnell, City Engineer with any questions or comments. email@example.com or by phone at 815-895-4557.
