Municipal Electricity Aggregation Program

Need information about the electrical aggregation program?  Residents and small business owners have received a letter indicating we have entered into a new agreement, allowed by the voters of Sycamore,  beginning August 2018 for a 12 month term.  Billing and service will remain the same.  You will continue to receive a single bill from ComEd.  There will be NO door-to-door solicitation.  The City enacted an aggregation program in 2012 through 2014, then suspended it in 2015, 2016 and 2017 as the market rates did not offer savings.  The City rebids the program each year, and if the market does not yield a fixed rate that beats the ComEd rate the aggregate program is suspended.  When comparing offers please remember to check the rate by month since ComEd’s rate will increase to 7.358 cents/kWh from June-September (summer rates).  The Illinois Commerce Commission offers a page on their website which offers additional information about aggregation.  To view those details on their Plug In Illinois page, please, CLICK HERE.

If you prefer, you may Opt-out of the program by following the instructions on the letter with no cost or penalty to you.  Please feel free to call the supplier on the letter if there are ANY questions at 1-855-740-9989.  For your convenience, CLICK HERE for the form to PERMANENTLY OPT OUT OF THIS AND FUTURE PROGRAMS.
